School Year Finale Season

The last few weeks of the school year were full and satisfying! Some of the events included:

- Memory Masters! The girls worked so hard on Memory Masters this year! It was Lucy's first year, and she plodded along slow and steady and nailed it. Timeline was the hardest subject. She persevered through a lot of practice run-throughs and passed proof after proof. At her Tutor Proof, I asked if she stumbled at all and she said, "Yep. Quite a bit!" However, the process is that, if you can correct yourself, it is considered mastery and you pass. So she'd definitely mastered the material, even with quite a bit of stumbling involved. Noelle blew us all away with completing Mega Master Triple Crown! She's the second person on our campus (after Isaiah) to do this crazy thing. She practiced and practiced for months and flew through it. The proofing process takes 2-3 hours, so it was no small feat to get through all the proofs. We were so proud of both of these sweet girls - for all of their hard work, for pushing through challenging moments, and for making it to the end.

- Mock Trial - Challenge B worked all semester to prepare for Mock Trial, and it was a good experience overall. Grandma and Granddad had just arrived in town, so they got to come, too. The class looked so professional, all dressed up and nervous. Isaiah was the prosecuting attorney, tasked with questioning several witnesses and offering closing statements. Unfortunately, the judge threw our team a curveball and had the prosecution do closing arguments before defense. This was not the plan and not what they had prepared for. Isaiah rolled with it and did a good job, but it was disappointing to not be able to do what he had prepared for. He was glad for a semester of practice and a neat experience with his class. Grandma got some cookies on the way home, which helped with the sting of loosing the trial.

- Challenge B Finale Dinner - Isaiah's class is a fun group of kids that really enjoy each other. We had a great time at a family dinner to celebrate finishing middle school and moving on to high school!

- Blue Books - Isaiah completed his exams complete with a short story, an "adopt and element" video, and lots of memorized terms, facts, etc. He did very well and we are proud of the way he has managed his schooling this year with discipline and integrity.

- End of Year Celebration - What a great finale for our whole CC Campus!

- Now, we carry on with math and get through some standardized testing. Summer is close!
