A little trip packed with a lot of fun

The day after Camp Dear Run, we loaded up and hit the road early for Colorado.  I feel pretty proud of ourselves that we can do it - mostly painlessly - in 1 day.  The kids are super travelers, and it helps with the roads are clear, the weather is nice, and we have lots of good snacks.

We landed in Colorado Springs 15 hours later, road weary but happy to be there.  I didn't do great taking pictures, but we made a lot of sweet memories!

An evening out for ice cream was a hit -

We also rode the Royal Gorge train.  Everyone really enjoyed it and it was a nice cast- and toddler- friendly excursion.

Luke's always concerned we don't get enough "Colorado" time while in Colorado.  Luckily we at least got this hike in.

Taking a pic of these cousins together is not an easy task.  I find it works best taking pics from behind.  Here they are "playing" the player piano at Fargo's.  The kids had some pretty sweet dance moves to go along with the music.

Silly littlest ones!

Our "Tallon time" also included the Airplane restaurant, setting up and sleeping in the camper (kids loved that!), grilling hot dogs and making s'mores at the park, Noelle and Noah becoming master monkey bar swingers, avoiding wet events for the sake of Isaiah, a handful of movies, a baby shower, church, and lots of hanging out time!  Everyone was healthy and well and able to take a break from work and regular life.  It was a great visit!

The kids were so very excited to make our way up to Littleton to see baby Brooklyn!!  And Molly!!  And everyone else, too.  What fun to meet that little sweetie pie and soak up some newborn coziness.  Shannon was very generous to let us snuggle her as much as we wanted to... and we wanted a lot of newborn cuddles!

"Mom, I'm really good at holding her. I think she really likes it when I hold her."

Luke kept stealing her from me.

He's still pretty good at the baby holding!

Proud big cousin!

Although we were in "newborn mode" in Littlton, we were still out and about a lot!  We made it to the Natural History Museum to explore and see an Imax (or two for Isaiah and grandparents), parks, and a Rockies game!

Cousins picnicking in the back yard -

Such a blessing to reconnect with the Fitzpatricks.  Love this family and the opportunity to continue our friendship with regular reunions!

Such a pretty pic of Mimi and grandbaby #6

Another round of s'mores?  Yes!

Mimi and Pa speaking Isaiah's love language with a trip to the Lego store for a bday gift.  They couldn't resist a little something for each of the girls - and for momma (not legos), so we all went home feeling spoiled!

Our finale was a Rockies game to celebrate Shannon, Isaiah, and Pa's bdays.  Mimi packed individual portions of chocolate cake and brought candles to the game!  Such a fun night -

We headed out early the next morning with our bellies full of 10 days of yummy meals and our hearts full of 10 days of memories with family.
