Our Valentines week included a Daddy/Daughter date at church. Lucy really wanted to go, but got a kiss goodbye and a night w/ mom and brother.

Noelle had been looking forward to her special night w/ Luke for weeks! An hour before they needed to go, I let her go ahead and get ready. The plan was for couples to choose where to eat on their own before all coming back to the church for dessert, craft, pictures, and dancing. Noelle chose McAlister's because they have such GOOD pizzas (ie kids' cheese pita pizza). She got to have bottomless lemonade as a treat :) The date night at church was themed after the movie Frozen. Very cute for all those daddies and daughters.
We were in good hands w/ Isaiah. He has learned how to scramble some good cheesy eggs -
On Wednesday of Valentine's Day week, we had an "ice storm". Schools were on delayed schedule, which meant our co-op was cancelled. It was a bummer because it was going to be a Valentine's party! We had a cozy day at home, though, which included cookies -
Noelle was very in to our little family valentine bags. She loved doing cards for each of us and could hardly wait for any of us to stumble upon a card. Once she'd made one, she'd keep telling us that we should probably check our bags.... After Valentines Day was over, she said it was her favorite holiday because you can do nice things for people. I tried to remind her that that isn't limited to Feb 14!
On Thursday, the Longs hosted a Valentine's lunch at their house. Then on Friday, the Caldwells hosted a Valentine party across the street. It's so awesome to have friends in the neighborhood! Kerri Kuecker came by and picked up the big kids to take them to the party because Lucy was a sick little puppy. It was the sickest she's been - a few days of 103 degree fever. She didn't seem to feel terrible, though, she just needed sleep and Mommy. But, I got a special little Valentine treat on Friday morning since she went down for a nap the same time the kids left for their party. 3 hours to myself in a quiet house!
Here's our Valentine's breakfast that morning. Bagels, books, and chocolates -
Really, the only big bummer of the festivities is that Luke and I didn't get our much-anticipated date. The church was hosting a date night (free babysitting with 3 hours of olympic- themed fun). We were supposed to drop the kids off and pick up an envelope which had our date "assignment" in it. We were really looking forward to it, but Lucy was still under the weather. So, it was a candlelight home date with cajun food and then watching the olympics.
We were so thankful for the glimpses of God's perfect love that we got to delight in last week -

Sweet! So much pink in your pictures these days :)
Gdad
I loved your response to Noelle about "doing nice things for others". I need that reminder when dealing with "unlovely" people.
