Lucy is 9!

What a joy to celebrate Lucy this week! Luke and Isaiah needed to leave for Dallas very early on the morning of her birthday, so we celebrated on her birthday eve. She chose Cheng Mai for dinner (chicken pad thai for her), and chocolate sheet cake per usual. Her gifts were exactly what her heart desired. She told me a few weeks ago that she didn't really want anything for her birthday. She could not think of anything she didn't have... except more books. So, that's what she got! BOOKS! She got super fun lego sets from both sets of grandparents, too, which she loved. She did ask for a reading pillow for her bed in the final hour, and Aunt Shannon came through on that one. She was one happy 9 year old, feeling spoiled and loved with good food and good gifts!

On her actual birthday, it was just the three of us at home. Lucy got out of emptying the dishwasher and dong math, but otherwise it was a normal morning. She did, however, have so much love sent her way! The Silverthornes stopped by with balloons and candy. The Moughons did the same. Then the Tanners! Then, the Caldwells came over to play for the afternoon. She is one celebrated little 9 year old!

We are hoping for a party when the weather is more predictable in the next month or two. Can't celebrate Lucy enough!
