It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It has felt so good to decorate this year! 2020 has been such a long year and we have spent many, many hours at home. It has been nice to put up lights and decorations, watching the piles of gifts grow under the tree. We have been enjoying Christmas movies, hot chocolate, nearly nightly batches of Christmas cookies, Jesse Tree, and a few outings around town. Although we certainly miss seeing family and doing regular Christmas parties, etc., it is a peaceful season and we are ever thankful for the One who is our ultimate source of hope, peace, joy, and love! We feel it deep in our bones this year and we are thankful.

Thankfully, we have been able to do a bit of celebrating with other people, too. Isaiah had a fun Challenge Christmas Party. The girls got to celebrate at CC, too. The Helmstetlers hosted an awesome Prudentia party, where the kids all decorated gingerbread houses. Not to brag, but they all three came home with prizes! We also wandered through the lights downtown. And we met Stan & Sharon for hot drinks and a walk through Ellis Pottery lights. We hosted friends in the backyard for drinks and dinner, and we had a Christmas Eve service on the driveway. Isaiah even got to have a sleepover (!) with William and Landon, both of whom have had covid. All in all, December most definitely felt festive and beautiful in spite of the ongoing pandemic.
