Basketball Season

This was by far our most fun basketball season for Isaiah and maybe not as fun for Noelle... We were thrilled that HEAT Longview started up this year, which is a homeschool league. Our middle school boys team came together well under the fantastic coaching of Coach Luke and Coach Woody. It was an incredibly long and busy season, with 2-4 weekly commitments (practice/games) from late October through February, but it was a blast. I enjoyed the game so much more this year, watching these young men grow in skill, strength, and character. This was an incredibly kind, hard-working, athletic, and "coachable" team, which we loved so much. The parents/families had such a fun time cheering on HEAT throughout the season and at two tournaments (B Team then A Team) at the end of the season. Luke was highly praised by all of the parents and kids for his investment, coaching skills, and heart that he put into the season. He certainly took his role seriously and spent many hours watching youtube videos with hopes of shaping excellent players.

Noelle's season with Upwards felt really short in comparison. She hustled hard as she adjusted to full-court games and a coach that was maybe not the most skilled at coaching. They won a few, lost a lot, and we were all ok with this being the last year with Upwards. Onward to HEAT next year!
