Noelle is 9!

What a fun weekend we had celebrating Noelle!!! A few days before birthday weekend, she was surprised by Dr. Briscoe, who decided to go ahead and take her braces off! Her big smile was definitely ready for the weekend.
We woke up bright and early for breakfast crepes, gifts (earrings!), and basketball games. The main event came later in the afternoon when we headed to the mall for the beautiful birthday girl to get her ears pierced! I have vivid memories of my mom carefully checking the placement of the little marker dots on my ears before the technician shot earrings through my little earlobes. I took the responsibility seriously! I was very glad Sharon was there to give me a second woman's opinion. When the dots were placed and the piercing was about to commence, I asked Noelle if she wanted to hold my hand. Her response was something like, "Why would I need to hold your hand?" Ha! Maybe I needed to hold HER hand! She was brave and quiet like all work that has ever been done on her body - teeth pulled, shots, etc. She chose garnets because they are her birthstone, and they looked so pretty in her sweet little ears!
Of course we headed out to sushi for dinner before heading home for cake before bed.

We did her party the next day in the afternoon. It was an "art party" complete with a "bleeding tissue paper" project, cupcake cones, and playing pictionary and pass the parcel. It was a sweet party for this crew of precious girls!!

Our hearts were especially full of love and admiration for our big 9 year old this weekend! It is such a delight to watch this strong, bold, fearless, beautiful little girl grow up. We are incredibly proud of her and are loving watching her grown in so many ways. Happy, happy 9th birthday, Noelle Avra Tallon!!
