Home Christmas

What a sweet "Home Christmas" we had today. The morning started with me making monkey bread and preparing the table, the kids playing with the toys Stan & Sharon had bought them last night at Books a Million, and Luke and Isaiah watching a recorded Broncos game.
We had monkey bread, sausage and fruit for breakfast as we finished the Jesse Tree and prayed. It has become such a rich tradition for us over the last few years. This year, all 3 kids participated in leading some of the devotionals and, minus Jonah, we pretty much went through all the stories.

Opening gifts was a delight. This year, there were a lot of unexpected gifts as no one had a really specific list of ideas. Actually, Isaiah had a lot of ideas, but with ideas like "hoverboard" he knew he wouldn't be getting everything on his list. He got a Nerf Rival gun, a yo-yo, a wooden building set, some books, and a hand-me-down sword to hang on his wall! Noelle was thrilled with her own pink bow and arrow set, a watch, headbands, accessories for Kit, and a gymnastics mat (top of her list!). Lucy loved her little things to play with - Russian stacking dolls, a dog with puppies, crayons, and the gymnastics mat. She's currently sitting on the mat, surrounded by little things, talking and playing and creating all sorts of stories. Luke and I got an assortment of goodies including a beer brewing set and slippers. We now soak up the rest of the day and prepare for our Colorado Christmases.
