Sweet Lucy Turns 5!

Oh what joy to celebrate this precious girl!!

Mimi & Pa were here for another birthday celebration, which started with chocolate chip pancakes and siblings' basketball games. We had to help guide Lucy in her food planning for her birthday. Her original idea was pancakes for breakfast, Happy Meals for lunch, and crepes for dinner. Then cake. We gave her some various suggestions and ended with pancakes, caesar salad for lunch, and out for bbq for dinner. She was so looking forward to turning 5, counting down the days to her "Poppy Party."

She was a very patient 5 year old to head out to basketball games when there was this huge haul of fun surprises waiting for her!!

Her super cozy, soft robe was one of her favorite gifts!! She's been wearing a very small short-sleeved swim cover-up as a "robe" to keep up with Noelle. She was thrilled to have her own robe! She was not expecting it and was thrilled :)

Mermaid tale from the Burchams to match Noelle's was also a hit!

Her main gift from us was a big girl bike. The kids went through a scavenger hunt to find it in the garage.

Bday dessert was cookie cake in the middle of the Trolls movie :)

Also happy about some Shopkins goodies -

It was an overall happy day to celebrate this sweet girl!! Thankfully, the Trolls Movie was super cute. She had wanted to watch it for a long time and we saved it for this moment. Lucy especially likes the Trolls soundtrack and will turn it on whenever she can get agreement from the other people in the room. Watching the movie was delightful, in part because Lucy is a lot like Poppy, the main character in the movie - happy, cheerful, friendly, bouncy, loyal, and sweet!!!

(Later in the day, the Coppingers stopped by to bring Lucy a little gift (a Poppy toy!!). When they pulled up in the driveway, I asked if she wanted to show them her bike. Her response was, "I want to show them my robe!!!")
