Summer's Here

We finished up our CC year with our End of Year ceremony.  It was a great delight to see how much the kids have learned.  At the end of the year, we have opportunity to review ALL of the memory work we've worked on through the year.  This year, we covered 24 history topics from Ancient History, 24 Science topics on Botany, Classification of living things, geology, volcanoes, Latin declension noun endings, Prepositions, Africa, South America, Central America, and Canadian geography, and more that I can't remember....   Isaiah tried for Memory Master again and got it!  Mrs. Minter is the biggest school cheerleader and he loved doing his final proof with her.  She is so genuine and generous in her love for Isaiah and the rest of her class.  So thankful she's been his tutor this year!

Isaiah had a fantastic class this year.  Really great kids.  Really good time learning, playing, exploring, doing presentations, and goofing around together.

The whole community on our last song together -

Isaiah's class presented on the Mexican Revolution.  My class presented on the Prepositions.

A great blessing of this year was having the Masons join our community!!  When I met Bonnie in St. Andrews in 2005, who knew we'd be walking this road together 10 years later!  Our kids have so enjoyed being together more this year, too.  Super thankful.

All the kiddos on picture day.  Foundations was totally full this year.  It felt so much bigger than last year, but it's nice to know it can't get bigger than this.  This group is small enough that we can really develop relationships with each other.  It's a good system.

All the kiddos and their mommas being silly on picture day -

Isaiah, 3rd Grade

Noelle, 1st Grade

My 6-8 year old's!  This was Noelle's class and Lucy spent the year as a "Junior CC Student".  She didn't want to pose for a picture, but she was a full member of my class.  She participated with everyone, including doing weekly presentations once she turned 4.  She couldn't quite keep up wiht all of the art and science projects, but she held her ground on memory work and really kept up well with the big kids.  I LOVED the privilege of tutoring this group of kiddos.  It really is an honor to have these hours with these kids every week.

Isaiah's super class of 9-11 year olds -

And Mrs. Tallon's class pic.  Why not?

Although we all need a break by the end of the school year, it really is sad to be done with CC for the whole summer.  We're anxiously awaiting our return in August!
