This baseball season definitely had a different feel to it. Isaiah bumped up from machine pitch to kid pitch and from 7-8 year olds to 9-10/11 year olds. He didn't get a ton of chances to swing the bat at games as his coach would tell him not to swing in hopes of walking. He got a few hits during the season, though. He was just as happy to be walked to first and have the chance to steal bases around for the run. His team was really good. His coaches weren't as belittling and harsh as they could have been. There was definitely some yelling in the last game, but I am thankful that Isaiah can let that roll off his back and it doesn't bother him much. The team made it to the city championship and lost in the final game. Isaiah still went home with quite a trophy to add to his growing collection!
These sweet girls put in a lot of baseball game time. This year, they made some friends with other sisters. K.K and Klushay were regular playmates. We also found that packing paper, crayons, and bubbles was enough to keep them and any other siblings hanging out happily occupied. They didn't really watch any of the games, though they did get in to chewing sunflower seeds this season. It was pretty funny to watch. They'd put a few in, chomp a few times, then lean over and spit. If you didn't know they were chewing seeds, you may have though they were about to throw up. I don't think they swallowed anything other than salt, but it was a true baseball experience.
