SBL

SBL was a total success this year.  Luke had such a great time!  I admit that I was nearly in tears when Aaron, Kelly, and Steve pulled up to pick him up.  All 3 hopped out to give me a hug and wish me well without him for a few days.  These friends are godly scholars/professors/church-leaders/husbands/fathers.  And all are hilarious!  I am beyond thankful that Luke has these men as friends and colleagues.  And then he got to spend days with Cliff at SBL.  Cliff ended up hanging with the St. Andrews crew a good bit and they all had a great time.  Luke presented one paper on his own (the one he missed last year) and another with Aaron.  They were both well-received.  He had decent meals and came back healthy.  And on the way home he found out he had been awarded a $600,000 grant for LeTu to start the Youth in Theology program.  Total success!

And something came over me while he was away that I wish would come over me more often.  I was like superwoman!  And the kids were super helpful/independent!  So, I got a few things done in the 4 days he was gone -

A little baking with my elf -

Repainted the hall a lighter color that works better in the window-less space -

Took the kids to see the Artsview production of Wizard of Oz -

Repainted our bedroom -

And decorated for Christmas!

And still had a little time to play - Little Holly...

What Lucy might look like as a 65 year old  -
