Lucyisms

Oh, this girl!  There is no way I can keep up with all of the funny, clever, silly things she says!  Hardly an hour goes by without her delighting us with something she says or does.

She keeps saying "Fall is sure sneaking up on us, right, Mom?"

"Isaiah is going to grow into a cowboy.  I'm going to grow into a horse girl!"

"Mom, did Molly go to Pepperdine?" To which Noelle replied, "Lucy!  Molly's not even a teenager yet!"

Isaiah and Noelle play "soccer ball" and we go to "soccer ball games"

"When I grow up, I want to be an airplane flyer or a babysitter."

She's been winking at me.  A lot.  It means "gotcha" or "I'm on it, Mom" or "Hey, I see you".  She winks like an adult would wink.  I LOVE it.

She's also learned to swing in the last few weeks.  She said she just watched the big kids and learned how to pump her legs, and she's spent a lot of time practicing her new skill lately.  "Now I don't have to just tummy swing!"

I've kept her in my CC class on Tuesdays because she really can pretty much keep up with the 6-8 year olds.  Nursery is too baby-ish for her, so she's our "junior-cc" member.  My favorite new grammar for her so far is "Latin Noun endings, 1st declensions".  Super cute.  And of course, who can resist a 3 year old reciting Greek and Roman gods or the classifications of living things?!  She definitely has moments of not being interested or able to keep up with what we're doing at home but really wanting to be involved.  These are the moments she's a distraction and sometimes drives us crazy - "I'm just being funny, Mom!"

She's definitely finding her voice with Noelle.  Those two can drive each other nuts and Lucy's certainly enjoying how much she can get Noelle riled up.  It's not hard, and she knows the buttons to push.

And, she really likes tights.  And she still doesn't like kisses.... or sparkles, though she's assured us that she will like kisses and sparkles in the fall.... or when she's 4.  We'll see.
