Lucy's accumulating quite the list of phrases these days. Sometimes, she uses them appropriately. Sometimes, they just spring from her mouth at random moments -
"I forgot."
"Good one!"
"That'd be fun."
"Awww! But I want to!"
"Yeah! I remember that!"
"Giraffes have long necks. Like me!"
"Elephants have long trunks"
"When I'm bigger, I won't nurse anymore!"
"Go Broncos!" "Go Dragons!" (Isaiah's basketball team)
"Lucy has brown eyes, like Mommy. Isaiah has blue eyes. Noelle has blue eyes. Daddy has blue eyes!"
And now that she knows that her birthday is coming up and that Mimi and Pa are coming, she's been asking a few times every day, "Mimi and Pa will see my party?!? Yay!"
She's also very into cardinals. She got one as a gift recently, and she's often on the look out for cardinals.
Yesterday at the post office, an older woman was wearing a (lovely?) sweater with birds all over it. I was rather proud that my not-yet-two-year-old could articulate, "Look, Mom! There is a cardinal on that lady's shirt!"
She really is pretty articulate. Last night, when she dropped her paci, she didn't cry or yell "Paci!" She shouted, "Mom, I dropped my new paci on the floor!"
She loves making us laugh, she loves taking part in any and every conversation we are having. Sometimes she pops in with relevant dialogue, and sometimes she just throws in any of the above phrases!
