We just returned from 10 lovely days in Colorado. Although we didn't have a white Christmas, we had a great Christmas! The drive from Longview to Denver was a new one for us, and we were eager to discover the landscape of our new route. It was, um, desolate and made us miss that pretty drive across Utah. It was simple, though, and seeing the Rocky Mountains in the distance as we neared I-25 was pretty fun. It had been an entire year since we'd been in Colorado, and it was certainly good to be back. We felt a little embarrassed by our TX license plate and contemplated putting a "CO Native" sticker on our car somewhere. The kids traveled pretty well. We stopped in Amarillo for the night, and we were definitely ready for a break. Day 2 was easy - and so warm! We stopped and picnicked - in CO - in December - without coats - for lunch. We finally arrived in Denver to these eager folks, ready to spoil us with all sorts of goodies, gifts, and memories. The first night was "Grandkids decorate the sugar plum tree" night.

The next day was MUCH anticipated by Noelle and was a highlight of the trip for all of the ladies. Noelle was invited to join me, Mom, and Shannon at our annual Christmas tea. She was beyond thrilled with the invite to attend a "breakable tea party" with us. On the way through downtown Littleton to the tea shop -
Her tea was called a "princess tea". She had her own assortment of goodies. She also got to choose her own little pot of tea, which she enjoyed with plenty of sugar and cream!
On Saturday, Mom and Shannon took me shopping for house decor for my bday. Such fun to do that with them! Someday I'll take pics of the house, and you can see some of the lovely things they bought me! Sunday, we got to go to the Seven Fishes dinner for the first time in years. Why did I not take pictures?! I guess I was too busy enjoying catching up with my sweet pseudo-family and eating delicious food. We were so thankful to be there this year.
Monday morning was "Christmas Eve" brunch at the Burcham house and then Monday evening was our bday celebration for Noelle, Aubryn, David, and myself. The soon-to-be 5 year old was thrilled with her tutu a la Shannon and her assortment of clip-dress princesses from Mimi and Pa -

Christmas morning!
We did Christmas on our final day there. It was fun to give and receive all sorts of goodies. The kids made trivets for family members this year, and they loved watching everyone open them. Isaiah's favorite gifts from Christmas #2 were his remote control car and a Wizard science kit. Noelle loved getting more princess things, and Lucy was loving her new little teapot. Whew! We packed a lot into 5 festive, fun days. We loved it!
