The Decision Croissant

Well, the best analogy we have for life right now is a croissant.  You know all of those flaky, buttery layers that make up a croissant?  It feels like the decisions we need to make are piled up like these endless layers.  The layers are good and we are thankful we have them (most of them, anyway), but our heads are full and spinning with the many balls we have in the air - or plates spinning - or irons in the fire.  Here are a few of the layers at this moment:
- What day will we move out?
- What moving company will we use?
- What hotels will we stay at along the way?
- Does it matter if we book now or should we wait?
- Will we have movers pack our stuff or do it ourselves?
- What furniture should we sell?  And how?  And when?  And how much?
- What prices will the Longview countertop people charge per square foot including installation for the particular quartz we finally decided on?
- Which cabinet makers should we go with for the kitchen?
- When do we need to decide on the above?
- How long will it take to repair our cars that both need work?
- Will the insurance from the rear-ending cover a rental car?
- What color will we paint the kitchen?
- Do we like the white back splash?
- Is Noelle tall enough to ride on the water slides at the park we'd like to go to on the way out to Longview?

These are just this afternoon's discussion points and don't include the areas of life that we don't work collaboratively on like "How will I open my class tomorrow?" or "What's our schedule for the week?" or "When will we squeeze in training for the next 5k?" or "Why is my computer keyboard set to UK style?" or "What is the best resolution for the photo discs I need to send out?" And on the way to small group tonight, Isaiah asked, "Where will we go to see fireworks for 4th of July?"  We just laughed.  One more layer in our big family croissant.

I'm reading this after the fact, so congratulations: you made all those decisions! :-) But I know just how you feel. We're in a very croissant-y place right now. And honestly, I'd rather just eat the croissants than make all the decisions!
