Mommy and her beach-loving babes.
Noelle has come a long way in walking since this point. I think just yesterday she turned the corner and is on her feet more than on her knees. At the point of this pic, she was loosing her patience with being held at the seaside. She wanted her feet in that water! What a place to learn to walk -
On the way home from this particular excursion I snapped this shot of a 'chattel house'. This is the typical Bajan house, made of plywood and painted all sorts of colors - pink, green, yellow, white. The sun, rain, and wind don't allow these little places to look pristine for very long after a paint job, but the tattered look has become almost quaint in my eyes now.
Of course not all of the houses are chattel houses. Many are made of cinder block and look sturdier than this. I'll post pics of ours one of these days. It's definitely sturdy, though I wouldn't call it quaint.
So that's what we were up to a few weeks ago. And today? Luke's headed to the office early to face the last few steps of the thesis. The ground is drying out from the sudden, strong, and short rain storm we had at 5:30 this morning. Isaiah and I just did some work in his math work book. This kid LOVES 'learning time'. We've decided to do home school for pre-school and with such an eager kid, I won't battle motivating him, I'll just struggle to keep up! I'm just discovering (today, actually) that we can do learning time early in the morning while Noelle is the easy morning moments when all of the toys are new and fun again. I think we'll play for a few more minutes and head up the coast to Bathsheba for a little while.
And what else are we up to? Praying for baby cousin Noah, who will be born in April. If you'd like to join us in praying for her and her parents, Cass (Luke's sister) and Alex, please do - www.cassandalex.blogspot.com
Thanks for keeping up with us -
