Well, dear blog readers, there is a lot to catch up on! And, I hope this will be enough to satisfy you for a while because I probably won't be back to regular-ish posts until August.
The most exciting thing is that we are eagerly expecting number 2!! I am going on 10 weeks pregnant, looking forward to my first scan in just over a week. This little one should be making his/her appearance in January 2009. Isaiah doesn't really know what is going on, but he is well trained to say "baby!" when we ask what is in mommy's tummy. He's also taken to kissing my belly, but it's hard to tell if those are kisses for the baby or for the mama he adores. Please keep the 4 of us in your prayers -
In other news, we are in the process of moving to a new flat. We have a few things over at the new place, and the old flat is in total chaos. Luke is going to do a bunch of the moving this evening (it will be light almost all night!). We're excited about this new place. It's a bit bigger and nicer than our current place, plus it has a bigger fridge and FREEZER. We have a teeny tiny freezer in our current fridge, which has been broken for maybe a year. So, we've done w/o freezing capabilities for a while now. I'm so looking forward to being able to freeze until my heart's content, although I now realize we don't have a good reason to eat a whole tub of ice cream in one sitting...
Luke spent the last few days in Nottingham at a conference. Although he came back a day late due to train problems, he had a good time. He's keeping very busy with papers and his dissertation.
Isaiah is starting to talk up a storm. Luke noticed a difference in just the 3 days he was gone. His word of the day for the last few days has been "dinosaur". I can't believe how many times he's said it in such a short period of time! He's also discovered a love for "peam" - ice cream. It's so much fun to watch his language develop, especially when he says words that don't really relate to what's going on at that moment because we get a glimpse into what he's thinking about.
And me, I'm doing pretty well. I'm definitely tired. It's hard work growing a human! I've been mildly nauseated, but it hasn't been too bad. Thankfully, my little cutie pie sleeps for a good chunk of time in the afternoon, so I always get time to rest. I haven't had as many aversions as I did the first time around. The only thing I really can't take is coffee. And Luke has turned in to a coffee drinker over the last few months. Very weird all around.
Well, we'll be moving and traveling for a while, but I'll try to get back into a good blogging routine at the end of the summer. Thanks for keeping up with us -
