We were thankful to be able to book a little getaway in the midst of a pandemic. Since March, we have been home except for our week in Colorado, and we were very ready for a change of scenery! Our must-haves for our Air B&B booking were: within 4 hours, pet-friendly, on the water, nice-ish, and affordable. We found a little place on a peninsula in Lake Catherine near Hot Springs, AR. It was a lovely little trip as we relaxed, hiked, canoed, read, and watched movies. Some highlights included teaching the big kids to play Spades, laughing at the huge/gross/blind pig on the property (named Eden), enjoying a break from school (we have ALL been pushing pretty hard for the last 2 months), Lucy's discovery of many beautiful seeds/leaves/etc., and taking Remmie on her first trip. Isaiah wasn't feeling well for a bit, but lots of rest and some extra movies - Harry and the Hendersons! - was good for us. I'm thankful that, after LOTS of together time since the pandemic began, we still enjoy adventuring together. We are well and healthy, rested and ready for part 2 of our fall semester. Same as the first, but with the addition of basketball and a different class for me.
