Of course Halloween looked a bit different this year. But it was still festive and fun. We carved pumpkins on our own, but everyone was happy with their creations. Lucy had decided she was going to make an owl about 2 months ago, so she was ready to dive in. Noelle made a cat and Isaiah did a Mandalorian symbol. We have learned not to carve too early if you want to have them still standing on Halloween, so we did it the night before. Costumes were very simple this year! Isaiah grabbed his Darth helmet. Noelle used Remmie as her lamb and dressed up as "Mary had a little lamb." And Lucy was Hermione. She also decided on this quite a while before Halloween. Her costume consisted of an adult sized cardigan, braided then unbraided hair, and a wand made from a stick. She was more than happy with her simple costume and enjoyed matching Lucy Caldwell as Hermione, too. Luke wanted to be a Plague Doctor, and Isaiah did a fantastic job creating his mask! Funny enough, there were quite a few plague doctors at LeTu!
In lieu of trick-or-treating, we did the drive-thru version at LeTourneau then hosted our neighbors (Caldwells, Frees, Longs, Letts, and Norvils) on the driveway for hot cider, bags of snacks, and "scary" movies for the kids. It was really fun, and I think most people agreed that it was way better than regular trick-or-treating! It also helped that the weather was dry and not too cold.
