4th of July, 2020
Today was a different 4th of July. The day started by loading up in the van (masks, sanitizer, and lunch in tow) to drive 2 hours to Many, Louisiana, to choose our puppy! We have been longing for this moment for weeks, and it was so fun to finally see the two little puppies in the litter and decide which one would be our Remmie. They were both so sweet and cute, it was hard to choose. The little one was super spunky, cute, and busy. The bigger one was playful and sweet, and more cuddly. The breeders said they thought the bigger one would be more interested in snuggling with us and we were sold. We don't want to chase around a puppy for cuddles! So, the big one is ours and we are on the countdown now... 20 days! This little dog has given us so much joy already as we have anticipated her arrival for the last several months.
We stopped for our annual firework trip on the way home. Each kiddo had $5 to spend and they loaded up on some fun things. While we would usually celebrate with other people, we were flying solo tonight as we social distance... 'cuz Covid. It was still a fun evening, though, with firecrackers and sparklers on the back driveway with our sweet little family.
During a pretty crazy time in our country with Covid, racial tension, and political unrest, it was nice to have some happy distractions like puppies and fireworks. We have much to be thankful for, and much to pray for, too.
