40!
When I was in elementary school, I discovered the fact that I would turn 40 in 2020. And here we are! It has been a very fun few days of celebrating!
Luke planned an awesome wine/cheese/chocolate/charcuterie party for me. While he did all of the planning and research, the kids were very helpful in pulling it all together that evening. We invited 11 couples and all but 1 were able to come. It was a delightful evening! My hope was that it would be a relaxing, fun treat for everyone who came and it definitely was. It was a perfect 40th party with some of my favorite people and a lot of my favorite foods!
The next day, we bought a new van! We are happy new owners of a pearl white 2011 Sienna. I didn't really want another white car, but I really like everything else about it, so I'm happy! Although it wasn't for my bday necessarily, it kind of goes with the "spoiled and loved" theme of this week. My real birthday was on Tuesday, so it was a CC day. I knew it would be fun to do CC on my bday because I really love those people and I knew they wouldn't let my 40th go un-celebrated! They spoiled me - decorations, coffee/scone, 40 "things we love about you" from my students/moms, lunch provided for the kids, lunch provided for me, and lots of cards, little gifts, and hugs. What a sweet day! Dinner was a quick family dinner at Ramen Saiku before the guys headed to basketball practice. The girls and I grabbed some ice cream on the way home as a treat.
