Thanksgiving in San Diego

Since we had a trip to Disney World coming up in December and SBL was in San Diego this year, Mimi, Pa, and the Burchams graciously met us in San Diego for Thanksgiving week. The kids had been really excited to be with everyone and to see the tide pools and visit SeaWorld. Lucy wrote "Sandy Eggo" on a thankful leaf, not having seen the written words. I think we will always think of it this way now :) We had a great week, starting with meeting at the La Jolla tide pools. It was a beautiful moment to be there, full of joy in being together and making all sorts of discoveries of starfish, sea anemones, little fish, and hermit crabs. We stayed in a great house nearby that the Burchams found and rented for us all. During the week, we enjoyed SeaWorld and a half day of hiking/exploring LaJolla before a few days of rain. Mimi & Pa treated us all to a lovely Thanksgiving buffet at a nice hotel AND made leftovers for us to enjoy that night! We enjoyed hanging out together, feasting on good food, and listening to the girls overflow with laughter and joy. It was a delightful Thanksgiving!
