Mothers Day

Today these sweet babies celebrated their momma, and I relished being their momma as always. I got sleepy morning hugs and "Happy Mother's Day" greetings. They each created a gifts and cards for me. Isaiah made a duct-tape rose pen for me. Noelle created a finger-kinitted card and a duct-tape bookmark and wallet. Lucy made me an assortment of duct tape creations including a bunny, a bookmark, and a "thingie." (This past week we had done a topic wheel with "tape" being the topic. Along the way we ended up buying duct tape and making all sorts of creations. Isaiah has already made a handful of wallets for bday gifts for friends!) The family also gave me a (requested) school bag since tomorrow is my first day of school! I was surprised with a laptop cover, too.

We had church in the dark since a major storm blew through last week and power was still out at the church. It was very sweet! Songs we all knew, no slides or videos. Just simple, sweet worship, fellowship, and a quick sermon without a mic. I chose The Catch for lunch since we all can get something we like and still avoid gluten/dairy/corn. I even splurged on the free margarita. It IS Mother's Day. Why not have a fancy drink at 11:45 on a Sunday?! This afternoon we are getting ready for our May trip to Hot Springs! Luke took the kids for a few errands so I can have some alone-momma time and work on prepping for the trip. We needed some travel books and movies. Plus Isaiah just told us he's outgrown his (nearly new) tennis shoes so he needs a pair for this week. These feet are getting expensive, and we are curious about how big they will end up!  So I'm getting ready for May-Trip, which has become such a great tradition for us! School's done, we've been super busy, and we finally get to go have some fun adventures together and rest/relax! This May trip will also involve my first week of school.... but I've done the reading and will just need a few early mornings to engage in some class discussions online. And now I have a super cool school bag to take with me :)
