Part 3 of our Christmas was just as delightful as the first 2 parts! The girls loved settling into their room, all decorated and ready for them. I didn't get a good picture of their Christmas jammies from Roxanne, but they are wearing them here, and they are CUTE.
Pretty exciting moment for Isaiah as he WON his first Fantasy Football league! He found out during the Bronco's game -
We attended Littleton's Christmas Eve service the night we arrived, and we were ready to celebrate Christmas the next morning. Mimi and Pa had cinnamon rolls and bacon ready for us for breakfast. We eagerly anticipated the arrival of the Burchams... and Chica!
We could have filled a book with Lucy and Leesy moments. About 25 seconds after the Burchams arrived, these two were already snuggled up together, looking for Waldo. They were inseparable for the rest of the week, talking, playing, hiding, drawing, just loving each other's company so much. Little peas in a pod!
Gifts were abundant and wonderful! The girls got desk accessories, Isaiah got his number 1 gift hope - Super Mario Bros for Switch, I got a "Happy Everything" decoration, a purse, and some other goodies. Luke got clothes and whisky. Happy, fun times!
The Christmas dinner meal was Pa's lasagna and meatballs. Delicious!
The rest of the week was full of playing, art, note-writing between sisters/cousins (sometimes sweet, sometimes not-so-sweet), swimming, going to see Mary Poppins Returns, a meal at an Indian restaurant, a selfie scavenger hunt around Target, and Isaiah's first ice fishing trip.
We also celebrated birthdays at David and Shannon's house with an awesome wine/cheese/chocolate pairing meal. Always sweet to celebrate with David (39), Noelle (10) and Aubryn (8)!
The finale was the traditional fondue night! The kids enjoyed their velveeta version, then headed upstairs for Alvin & the Chipmunks movie while the adults feasted on the real stuff. It's such a great finale meal at the end of a month of feasting and delighting in so many good things.
Other than having frozen wiper fluid, the trip home was smooth and uneventful. We left at 6:15am and arrived at home at 11:15pm. 16 hours with a few extra fluid-issue stops and picking up Violet along the way. We got back to a chilly, secure house and were happy to be there! I had a burst of energy and Vi stunk, so she got a "welcome home" bath before I got in bed. All is settled and well -
