I get giddy with happy anticipation as fall gets closer. Although I get weary of the 90+ degree temps, there is such comfort in knowing that the heat is almost at an end and a long, cool, beautiful fall is ahead. The first batch of pumpkin bread makes me happy. Candles make me happy. Jeans and plaid and closed-toe shoes make me happy!! And enjoying the season with my little people makes me very happy!
We did have some miserably hot soccer games. Isaiah and his United team were troopers. They played hard, lost a lot, but had fun along the way. I forgot to take my good camera for some action shots this year...
We ran/walked in Miles for Missions -
We sweated at Ellis Pottery's fall displays -
But then... this. This glorious day when the kids and I found a new trail. It was cool enough for jeans and... sweatshirts!! There were crispy leaves under foot. The air was cool! Other than Luke being away on a conference and unable to join us, it was bliss.
We had a hot a steamy trip back to Dixie Maze! We were disappointed that the corn tub was not open this year after some kids broke out in rashes... But we got to enjoy the rest. This year we gave the big boys freedom to explore the maze unsupervised. They had a blast. So thankful for the Masons, Silverthornes & Minters!!!!
One other hot fall day event was helping at Alpine with a field trip. Our job was to serve snacks for a few hours and then present a pumpkin story. It was really hot and Lucy was attacked by wasps (3 stings!!!), but it felt good to serve these local kiddos and give them a fun fall experience, too.
