Easter Eve, we continued our Resurrection Cookie tradition. Luke read to the kiddos while the egg whites were beating. Such a sweet moment for these 5 siblings/cousins to be soaking up the truth of Jesus' life!
Easter morning baskets! Everyone was excited about their chocolate bunny. Isaiah was thrilled with his Action Bible and Noelle loves her new "God loves the world" bible.
Not our best year for Easter morning pics since it was so dark and rainy outside! We did our best -
After we had taken pictures, we made our way to church. Our neighbor, Jerry, had asked for a ride. We didn't know if he'd really be ready to join us, but sure enough he came out in his easter-egg tie and his best clothes. He's a semi-homeless 35 year old man living with the consequences of poor decisions and a rough childhood. He occasionally washes our car and we have befriended him. I was expected him to be a fish out of water at Sunday School and church, but he jumped right in - answering questions in class, walking around shaking hands and introducing himself. It was pretty amazing. He joined us for our Easter meal - and dominated the conversation - but we got to know a lot about his life!
I wasn't good about taking pics of the rest of our time with family here, but we had a great time. It was fun to show Cass and the kiddos our world down here. We went canoeing and hiking at Caddo, ate dinner at T.Blancos, went to the splash pad, went to Isaiah's first baseball game, and played a lot! We were thankful for their efforts to make the long journey!
