I'm thankful for...

- the Thanksgiving season
- a wall full of thankful leaves and the way this simple tradition helps our family to focus on the Giver
- the real leaves that changed to brilliant reds and yellows before they died and fell and the reminder of the Giver that gives that unnecessary sparkle of color in the changing of seasons
- a tenure-track job for Luke.  Oh my, I could and should write a whole post about the sweet, sweet gift of this job.  He will be teaching at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas in August.  Assistant Professor of Theology at a great little school where we already have sweet friends.  Such a gift.
- an "almost 4 year old girl" who is seeming so old to me and sparking my curiosity about parenting a big girl
- cozy boot slippers on cute little feet
- a few days with Mimi here at the house while Luke was at SBL
- our trip to Tucson for Thanksgiving
- the sweet moment of seeing my Grandparents-in-law meet 2 more great-grandchildren in the same day - Lucia Jane and Elliot Preston
- good, familiar holiday food
- a sweet morning at home with a napping baby today
- the fun of decorating with Christmas decorations that have been in storage for years
- the clean, towel-wrapped angel that was just handed to me
- the man who just handed me that sweet baby
- our first cups of eggnog by the Christmas tree tonight along with our first night of the "Jesse Tree" devotionals
- the pure delight the kids have over things like eggnog

I am thankful for this blog and the many posts and beautiful pics that you share, I am thankful for you, Luke, and those precious children, and I am thankful that God brought you into our lives. I love all the pics, but especially of your grandparents-in-law and the children! And hey, I was already super excited that you have a Jane in your family and now you have a Preston in your family too (although I know it has nothing to do with us (lol), still kind of cool)! Continue to be blessed by the Giver and enjoy the holiday season! :)
