Little Lucy!

Sweet Lucy kept doing just what she was supposed to do while we were traveling.  Growing, changing, and learning new tricks!  She began rolling both ways, though she usually prefers just to be on her back.  She took great strides in her hand control, and by the end she could pass a toy back and forth between her hands.  The break from swaddling was a big deal during the month since she rolled herself onto her face in bed a few times while swaddled.  I was really worried about her doing this during the night, so we did a lot of swaddle adjustments - one arm out, both arms out, fully swaddled until the first waking, etc. to try to get the best sleep (for all of us) and still keep her safe.  Now she sleeps in her sleep sack and the swaddling is done.  It's a relief but sad, too!  My baby is growing up!  

She endures a lot of kisses from me.  I can't get enough of those soft, squishy cheeks!!

 The play mat was a great source of fun for her during the trip.  She spent a lot of time under here, reaching for toys, kicking and giving the occasional squeal.

 Another big shift this month was sink bath to tub bath - and she LOVED it!!  She is so happy in the bath, kicking and squealing.  I think bath time is her loudest time as far as experimenting with her voice.  It's a delight to bathe her!

And the bumbo.  A great invention.  We were glad to borrow Aubryn's for the month.

She did a great job with naps on the go.  She's been pretty easy in terms of that.  As long as she has a blanket to cover her, a paci, and some white noise and movement, she will fall asleep pretty easily.  That was very helpful on this trip.  She started to notice when I wasn't around on this trip and gave some pretty cute sad/worried faces to people she wasn't yet familiar with.  For the most part, Lucy delights everyone she meets, sharing her big gummy smile and bright eyes with anyone who will talk to her.  She really was rarely fussy on this trip, just kept up being her sweet, sweet self!
