The other day, I took the kids on an excursion to Orchid World. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew it might not be all that thrilling for us. But, it was something new, which we're always hungry for on this wee island. Isaiah was so excited to see it, and I kept warning him that it was a garden, with lots of orchids (and maybe not as exciting as the name sounds).
We had a lovely time! We were the only people there. Isaiah led us through the paths, and we made the rounds through the whole park twice, stopping for a muffin snack and admiring the flowers. Honestly, the flowers were beautiful and the breeze was nice, but what made the day was my sweet son. He is so easily delighted that it truly is a joy to do just about anything with him. As we strolled through Orchid World, his voice was full of marvel and fun, making up songs about a little cat that was following us, pointing out millipedes, finding good places for us to sit, asking questions about the garden, noting that the orchids were "pretty cool!" The kid just enjoys life, learning, and being with people, and his delight is contagious. We're so thankful he's part of our family!!

It takes a special person to notice the little nuances that make all people unique and wonderful creations. Good observations Holly!

That's fun! I want to go to there whenever we get to come visit! Isaiah can be my tour guide. I'm sure he will have learned all about the different kinds of orchids by then. Cass
