Mimi & Pa's Visit

We had a great 2 week visit with Mimi & Pa! Here are a few more pics from their visit -

In Oistins before going out for dinner -
Pa and Noelle swinging at the Bath beach park. Noelle has a special place in her heart for Pa. She would ask for him all the time. She didn't necessarily want him to hold her, she just liked knowing where he was and smiling at him.
Mimi and her grandkids at Bath beach -
We snorkeled! We hadn't yet explored snorkeling in Barbados and we really enjoyed it. Isaiah's been practicing at the beach we usually go to, which has nothing really to look at under the water. He was thrilled to be seeing fish and coral!! I've been frustrated with the lack of places to go on this island. There used to be a pretty neat aquarium that closed down. But, as we were snorkeling, I was reminded that it's pretty cool that my 3 year old gets to snorkel in the Caribbean Sea. Here's Luke, Isaiah & Pa headed in for the first time -
We were down at the fish market a few times during their visit. At the fish market and pier, you see LOTS of fish -
And it's a little bit stinky!
On the pier -
Mom always likes to treat me to something "girly" when she comes to visit. We went to Sunbury Plantation for a tour and for lunch. It's an old plantation house built in the 1600's. We enjoyed our time together -
Of course our little guy had a huge list of things he wanted to play with Mimi and Pa. He was always full of ideas of things they could do together. Lots of books read, games played, and stories acted out - A few other highlights -
- Mimi, me and the kids took the windy back road tour to the pottery shop up north
- Picnicking at Bathsheba Beach on their first day here
- 2 nights out at Oistins
- Mimi and Pa sent Luke and I out to the West coast for a nice date. It was SO fun to be out on our own and to be treated to a beautiful restaurant right on the coast. We felt like we were on vacation, which hasn't happened too many time since we've been living in paradise...
- A handful of trip to Chefette
- LOTS of fried okra!
- New clothes, toys, and coffee beans from the States
- Taking Mimi and Pa to our rockin' church
- feeding the fish on campus
- They accompanied me to take the kids to their first pediatrician appt. here. It was great to have their help as we didn't know where exactly we were going and we didn't know how many hours we'd have to wait once we arrived. It was pretty smooth, actually. And Noelle got her MMR.
- A handful of trips to Miami Beach
- The grandkids and grandparents dancing to the dj music in Oistins
- A finale meal of fried flying fish, jerk chicken, belly pumpkin, cou cou, pina coladas, and coconut cake

It was great! Come again soon, Mimi & Pa!
