Dyeing Eggs

We had a sweet day today. There haven't been many 'family days' in the last few months that haven't been consumed with getting-settled tasks. There has been so much to do to make this place a home, so many errands to run, things to figure out, lines to stand in, maps to study, etc. It has been exhausting. Today, however, we had a family day with very little cultural or transitional stress. We went to our usual beach, then we wandered through Oistins for their Easter weekend festival. We passed by many stands of cheap toys, other stands where fish fritters would soon be fried and sold, and ended up stopping at a couple plant stands. We bought a few plants for our house, including a little one for Luke to put in his office and a tiny cactus for Isaiah's room. On the way home, we went to Chefette for lunch. The kids both took really long naps and then we dyed Easter eggs. This year, the dyeing was characterized by Noelle being pretty frustrated that she couldn't participate and Isaiah mixing the dyes to create 'brand new colors'. Noelle was pacified by playing with the stickers that came with the dye kit, and we had a good time. Homemade pizza for dinner, some wii-playing, some Lost-watching and there are a few things I still need to do to get ready for Easter tomorrow. Happy Easter, everyone!
