The first party was in Colorado Springs. He had requested a Curious George party with a round Curious George Cake. And he got it! We had ribs and hot dogs for lunch followed by yellow cake and chocolate ice cream.
Isaiah and Grandma making the cake -
"I'm THREEEEEEEEE!"
Isaiah and Noelle's Great-Grandparents came up to meet Noelle and celebrate their oldest great-grandchild's birthday -
AND, Isaiah's great Uncle, Aunt, and cousins (second or first removed?) came up to celebrate, too. Here's the crew coloring pictures for a little memory book for the birthday boy -
Party #2 was in Littleton with the Sykora/Burcham side of the fam. Mimi brought out the "Today's your special day" pillow that was hung many times as I grew up - for birthdays, graduations, performances, etc. And Pa blew up and hung quite a few balloons, also part of the Sykora birthday tradition -
It was a Veggie Tales Party, and we had hot dogs and brats for dinner followed by Denver Chocolate Sheet Cake -
You'll see this costume again around Oct 31 -
The big gift! It is incredible to see how much Isaiah's progressed in his bike riding skills and confidence in 1 month. The first day, he rode about 50 feet before he was done. Now, he can go for 30 solid minutes, which he begs Luke to take him outside for at every opportunity.
It was so sweet to celebrate our 3 year old. We're SO proud of the awesome little guy he is, and we are looking forward to continuing to see how the Lord molds this little boy. These days, I'd say he is as full of tenderness as he is of questions (which is a LOT), plus he has a great sense of humor and gives the best hugs. He's becoming more intriqued with fighting bad guys, shooting with sticks, climbing, sports, and competition. As someone who grew up without brothers, it is fascinating to see all of these innate 'boy' things oozing out of him!
The transition has been a bit rough on him. He's pretty adaptable, but we still have occasional meltdowns, which he attributes to missing St Andrews. He's been kept very busy since we've been in the States, however, with 4 doting grandparents, Aunt Shannon & Uncle David, and plenty of fun activities - putt putt, zoo, movies, library, tumbling class, swimming, fishing, exploring, etc.

That’s funny…
Corrie and I occasionally have meltdowns which we attribute to missing Isaiah :)
