- some of the sweetest friendships we've ever had
- watching my belly swell with our son and then our daughter
- living (relatively) easily without a car
- drinking tea with milk
- teaching Isaiah how to walk in the Cathedral grounds
- culture shock that lasted a good 6 months
- many hours spent reading, thinking, and writing
- how quickly the weather changes from sprinkling rain to bright sunshine
- running into a familiar, friendly face nearly every time we left the flat
- fish & chips
- unending tv shows about property
- pushing a stroller loaded with groceries and a 2 year old while being 8 months pregnant
- finding that the British comedians have gotten a lot funnier in 4 years
- struggling through disappointment
- replacing Mexican food with Indian
- the sound of bagpipes echoing through town, especially on foggy afternoons
- feeling at home in this quaint, beautiful little town by the sea
- oh so many more things!
I wish I had more mental energy to write a poignant, thoughtful post to conclude our time in Scotland, but honestly, preparing to move 4 people around the world is hard work! I'll just say that we are truly sad to come to the end. We know it is time to move on, but this season has been incredibly sweet for our family, and as we flip through the memories of this chapter for many years to come, I imagine our mental wanderings will come with smiles, tears, deep thankfulness, and a fair bit of longing to do it all again.

What beautiful memories you have of St. Andrews. Thanks for sharing your stories over the last four years and inviting us into your world across the pond. Many good wishes for the next few days, for your move, and for the chapter ahead.
And a great big thank you to Dr. Torrance who took a risk with Luke; we all became fans of Scotland as a result. The extended family of Luke and Holly will always be grateful. With sadness, we all say goodbye. Roxanne
Holly, from one who has crossed over: I hear ya! Safe and smooth travels tomorrow!
You made me laugh and cry within seconds of each other. So many of those things are on my list too. What a blessing St A has been! I miss you already!
