Today, at Little Cherubs (our weekly Sunday-School-esque play group), the morning went like this:
For the lesson, the leader brought out items that related to things that mommies to do for their families. Then, she talked about how Samuel's mommy wanted a baby very much - she prayed to God, and God gave her Samuel. Then, the leader talked about how this coming Sunday is "Mothering Sunday", a time when we remember how special mommies are. We sang a song with the words "Thank you, God, for the people we love.... Thank you, God, for mommies."
For the craft, the kids sat around a table making Mother's Day cards with construction paper, glue, and tissue paper. My conversation w/ Isaiah went something like this:
Mommy: Isaiah! I love that card. You're doing such a good job on it! Who is it for??
Isaiah: It's for Daddy.

I just laughed out loud- that's too funny. Even if your son doesn't recognize how great you are, I think you're fantastic! I am so happy to have you as the mother of my niece and nephew!
Charming! :o) Awww, I miss 'Little Cherubs'. Glad to hear it's still going strong! I hope you have a wonderful Mother's day, and that you are made a special card of your own! Julie xx
Oh, that is just darling! I laughed out loud, too, because kids just kill me sometimes. Honestly. I'm hoping Luke did the right thing and had beautiful boy give it to you, instead! :)
