Today's Lessons

* If you're out of milk at breakfast time, don't bother trying to choke down dry Shredded Wheats. Just go straight to the carrot cake.
* There's no shame (and much gain!) in going to bed at 8pm when you're going to be up 3 or 4 times with an infant.
* Sunny days are so wonderful in a cloudy country, yet I'm glad they don't come around every day.
* If, while at swimming lessons, your happy toddler suddenly goes to the edge of the pool, becomes very quiet and focused, and refuses to continue in the class activities, it's probably time to get out and let him focus on some other business.
* Cheap pillar candles bring just as much coziness to a room as expensive ones.
* When your mom tells you not to feel guilty about your toddler watching lots of movies after the arrival of a new baby, listen to her - pop in Dora and make a cup of tea.
* If you're looking for a way to serve someone, make a dinner for a family with a new baby.
* Using a hair drier to lull your infant to sleep works. If your toddler comes upon said hair drier, he may melt your (landlord's) carpet.
* The "Happiest Baby on the Block" guy is brilliant. If you or anyone you know has or is expecting a baby, get this dvd!
* If you see a usually clean cut boy walking around with a huge mop of hair on his head, he just might have a new baby sibling.
*If you don't have a very good memory, start a blog so you can look back and remember the lesson's you've learned, too.

Love your life lessons! Yes, I also have used the dvd method of distracting and entertaining my toddler as well! I've been trying not to so much anymore, but i think I might give myself a break once in a while and let Sammie watch a few more dvds!
