My friend, Stephanie, recommended some dvd's about taking pictures of your family. I just got them yesterday, and I'm really excited about going through them! The first is called "Refuse to Say Cheese". The idea is that capturing the story of your kids/family requires more than the "look at me and smile" pictures that we usually take. I really like this philosophy at the moment... especially since my darling toddler is not at all interested in smiling naturally at the camera.
So, the first dvd is divided into sections with various assignments. I may share every assignment with you. We'll see how it goes. The first one was moments of conflict. This doesn't necessarily mean arguments and tears - it just refers to catching moments of some sort of tension that tells a story. They suggest pictures of your children working on a new skill. Of course crying counts as conflict, too :)
