Cambo Gardens

This picture pretty much sums up our journey to Cambo Gardens over the weekend. It is little area right outside of town with gardens, walking paths, a little shop, etc. The snowdrop (flowers) are supposed to be incredible there this time of the year, so we decided to go for it. We set out right on time (no small feat w/ 2 little ones) to catch the bus. The sky was blue and the day was promising. We waited for the bus, shushing our now crying baby. The bus arrives, Isaiah is excited, and we find that we can't fit the stroller on the bus. So, we head home to wait for the next bus (an hour later) and learn how to fold the stroller down. We discover that, even folded down, the stroller won't fit on this particular bus. So, an hour later, we head out again, Isaiah in a small stroller, Noelle (crying again), in the baby carrier. The day is getting colder and windier, but we're determined. So, we catch the bus, starting to get hungry and headachy by this point. We arrive 15 minutes later and wander around the gardens for 1 1/2 hours. It was nice to be outside and see the "magnificent" snowdrops. They were definitely pretty, though not as incredible as we'd imagined. It was pretty cold, so I was huddling Noelle under a blanket like a "worried mother bear", said Luke. After a while of wandering, trying to get Isaiah to look at the camera while standing amongst the snowdrops, and keeping Noelle from waking up and screaming to be fed, we stumbled into the little tea shop area. Luke got in line for tea, Isaiah started getting naptime fussy, and Noelle ate. We checked our watches and realized we needed to run for the bus then, or hang out for another hour. By then, we were ready to get home. So, we hustled back through the grounds, down the long path that gets back to the road, stood and ate our picnic snacks, then took the bus back home. So, I'd like to entitle the above picture: Snowdrops: Been there, done that.
