Toddler Speak

At the dinner table:
Isaiah: I have a good idea!
Holly: Oh yeah? What's your good idea?
Isaiah: I have a good idea for what we can do after dinner. Stand on one foot!
Luke: That sounds like fun. And maybe we can do some spinning.
Isaiah: What kind of spinning?
Luke: Spinning in circles.
Isaiah: What kind of spinning in circles?
Luke: Going around and around.
Isaiah: No.

After a hug:
Holly: Isaiah, you give such good hugs. Who taught you how to hug?
Isaiah: Jesus.

In the morning, in my bed:
Isaiah: You did wake up, Mommy!
Holly: Yep. I'm awake.
Isaiah: What you dream about, Mommy?
Holly: Hmmm. I can't remember.
Isaiah: You did dream about me, Mommy! I did dream about you!!!

After the end of a movie:
Isaiah: (general, rambling whines)
Holly: Isaiah, please stop whining.
Isaiah: (thinks for a minute) But I like whining!

Phrases popped in here and there from our wee one:
- You ready hold me?
- You are my son.
- (after drinking or eating something) Oooh. That feels better. I feel healthy now.
- (sniff, sniff, sniff) You DO smell clean, Mommy!
- Winnie the Pooh eats honey.
- Jesus little children.... all the children of the world...
- Please I may have a snack?
- No. I don't want to do that.
- No. I don't think so.
- No.
- That was a good idea?
- I am big boy!
- What I crying about?
A recent addition since last week:
- I am cracking Granddad up!
And, finally, most used - Isaiah's version of "Why?"
- What kind of __________? (insert anything, emphasize "kind", and repeat often)
