I haven't been imagining the rain. Yesterday on the news, I heard that this August has produced more rain in Scotland than any August for the past 60 years! Thankfully, the days have been a bit more dry in the last week, and we've been able to be out and about.
A few days ago, I got the itch to get "out" of town. I'd never walked to Allanhill Farm, the berry farm/tea shop/park/farm animals on the edge of St Andrews. There is no bus that goes there, so every time we've gone in the past it has been by taxi or a friend's car. But, I checked the mileage online and found it was just 1.5 miles from our door. So, I packed up my little companion and we headed out. It was a beautiful walk, although I determined that a mile uphill with a pregnant belly and a stroller along a dirt path is maybe a little much. The walk downhill was more pleasant.
Isaiah loves the seesaw now -
I love the look on his face as he gazes at his scone -
We call these "leopard pigs" -
A few days later, we took a family trip to another park on the other side of town. It is a fabulous place, but way too far to walk to, so we don't go much. In addition to beautiful gardens and trees, there is playground equipment, putt putt, a bounce house, a little train to ride, and a little lake with row boats. Unfortunately, my guys took a tumble at the playground about 8 minutes after we got there, which left Isaiah a bit grumpy and Luke feeling very guilty (he was holding Isaiah when he slipped off the ladder he was climbing). But, everyone recovered and we enjoyed the day.
On the rowboat. Those olympians sure make rowing look easy!
