Still here!

Hello, blog readers! It's been a while... I've been avoiding the blog for the last week or so because I feel like I'm too far behind to catch up. So... here's a list of what we've been up to. Short (sort of) and sweet -
- Gammy, Grandpa, and Aunt Shannie came to visit
- Isaiah dubbed Grandpa, "Pa"
- He still doesn't say "Mama"
- First Easter to dye eggs and go for a hunt
- Gammy brought all of the supplies from the States, fulfilling a dream of dyeing eggs with her grandchild
- Isaiah cracked open each plastic egg as he found it, but he didn't know he could eat the jelly beans. He was content enough with the discovery of tiny, colored things
- Mom, Shannon, and I had high tea at the Old Course hotel
- Aunt Shannie taught Isaiah how to do "cheers" with his cup. He's still doing it
- Grandpa taught Isaiah how to shave
- Isaiah taught Gammy how to dance to The Wiggles
- There are a few pics below, but for more, see Shannon's blog
- Luke had another job interview, but did not go further in the process
- We're 95% sure we'll be in St Andrews for one more year
- We love St Andrews, so although it's disappointing for things not to come together just as we'd planned, we're really thankful
- God is so good, and He has good plans for us
- Fife Council put a new little climbing boat in at the East Sands park, which Isaiah loves
- He's really in to boats these days, so we take lots of trips to the harbor
- I lost the stroller the other day while I was with him at the harbor
-I'd left it near the cathedral, assuming no one would take it
- I was wrong
- Found stroller at the police station - confiscated as abandoned
- Won't be doing that again
- Luke went back to the abbey for 6 days of work
- I caught a rat while he was away
- I also had a 4 day plague of big, fat, nasty, slow flies in the flat - about 20/day
- We kept the vacuum cleaner out, ready to suck them up
- Isaiah would point them out and then say "bye bye" as they disappeared into the Hoover
- Pest control came to check it out, but they ended up dying out on their own
- Only 2 flies so far today!
- Pest control coming tomorrow, too
- There is a rat cave outside our flat, which needs to be dealt with
- Isaiah is saying 2 2-syllable words now "movie" and "amen"
- He loves to pray, reminds us at every meal
- We'd never been in a habit of praying over our cereal
- I lost my wedding ring for 4 panicky, tearful hours
- I realized that (other than pictures/video), it is the most precious material possession I own
- I also was reminded that I have a very patient, loving, precious husband who helped me look for it for a few hours, without a hint of blame or frustration
- He found it in the stroller
- I was SO happy
- Isaiah has tinkled in the potty almost every night since my last post
- Tonight he ate a bunch of carrots and broccoli, which made me a very happy mommy
- The only veg he usually eats are canned green beans, cucumber, and olives
- Are olives a veg?
- I watched a really bad movie while Luke was away - "Year of the Dog"
- I couldn't even finish it, it was so un-funny
- I also slipped in the bathroom while cleaning the tub, banging my nose on the side of the bathtub
- I thought I might have broken it, but I guess not
- It's been 5 days and it's still sore, but it never bruised
- Tonight is the British version of Apprentice, which is the only show I'm watching regularly at the moment
- Luke doesn't like it much, but he sits with me while I watch
- It starts in a few minutes, so I better go!

LOVED your post! You are so funny. Glad you had a great time with family (and found your ring, yikes)!

Olives are fruits...

Sorry if that reduces his veg count - but has no effect on his 5-a-day tally!

Love the post, glad you're okay, and umm, your nose still could be broken even though it didn't bruise. I broke mine (big surprise) and it never bruised like expected, although it was confirmed by el doktor that it was in fact very broken.
They can't do anything for it though, so I guess it doesn't much matter.

Good luck with the rats.
