Have any of you out there found a car seat for your 1+ year old that you'd recommend? Isaiah has outgrown his infant seat, so we're shopping for a new car seat. It is hard to do online, and we don't have a clue about any of them since most of our friends here don't have cars. I know there were some recalled in the last few years, but we weren't around for that. I know we have some readers out there in this car seat buying stage of life, so we'd love to borrow whatever research or experience you've gained!

Here is the one we have: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2734223&cp=2255983.2256187.2256196&parentPage=family
It was rated #1 by Consumer Reports when we bought it a little over a year ago. We moved little man to it shortly before his first birthday and now, almost a year later, he is just now moving to the middle sized seat belt. We are hoping to use it at least another 2 years. It installs in a car with ease and can be taken apart fairly quickly for cleaning (which we've had to do often). The one we purchased is gray but it comes in a lot of different colors. Hope this helps!
Ok, that link was truncated so here is the info and it can be found on babies r us....
Evenflo Triumph Advance LX Convertible Car Seat
We have the same for both girls. Brenna's is waiting for her to outgrow her infant seat. We have been very happy with it.
We have a Graco Aztec for the boys... it has served us well! Nice comfy padding and an easily removed cover to toss in the washer when needed. The boys are almost three now and it looks like they'll be able to use this seat for at least another year.
Sorry I did not specify which one...we have the Evenflo Triumph LX.-

We have the Britax Marathon, (http://www.britaxusa.net/products/360_marathon.aspx) It is also rated highly by Consumer Reports. It's a little pricey, but it's a very plush, convertible seat that goes from 5-65lbs. We won't have ever have to get another seat, which is why we bought it, instead of getting an infant seat, a toddler seat and a booster seat.
The whole thing works very well, straps adjust easilyy, it installs very easily, the cover comes off eaily to wash, and the straps are simple to move up as the baby grows.
Before Evie was born, we already had the carseat and we used it when Karen Hoppis came to visit with Grace, who was two at the time. We just moved the straps up a couple notches, and it worked very nicely.
Do with this what you will. ;-)
We have the Britax Marathon, too. We love it for all the reasons the Scotts mentioned. This may be silly, but it also appeared more narrow in the line up of carseats at Babies-R-Us. This was important to me because I knew we would just have our Camry for at least two children. For now we can have one passenger between the carseats in the back.
You've probably already gone shopping by now, but Logan has the Britax Marathon as well, and we love it!!
